National Best Friends Day!!

So it's National Best Friends' Day! 

How many of you are still best friends with the same person as you were 10, 20, or even 30 years ago?  When we are all little children, our best friends most likely changed weekly.  We were learning the process of how to socialize and find the perfect fit for our "best friend."  I can personally tell you that over the years I have had some pretty amazing people enter my life and they have held the position of being my best friend.  They have helped me when I needed them with their strength and understanding.  They stood beside me and made me feel that everything would be okay.  These people are truly extraordinary people. 

Examples of these people are:  

These are the people that if you haven't seen you in years that when you do get back together it's like things have never changed.  

These are the people that grew with when you came into this world and know the struggles, heartache, and best memories you have ever had.

These are the people that are just like you in the current stage of your life, whether it be your friends with children the same age as yours, the people you work with, go to school, or in your family.  

They are your go-to people.  The people that come to your mind first.  The people you can't wait to tell that special something to.  The people you need for a hug at the end of the day.  The people we cry with.

These are your people.  These are the ones that help create your world, the ones that you have entrusted to part of your journey.  

So on this day of celebration, I want to thank all of those people for being my rock when I needed you, for understanding me, to loving and caring about me no matter the circumstances.  

While some of you have left my journey, know that you were part of it and I am truly grateful for the gift of you and I hope that in return I was able to be as much of a friend to you as you were to me.
